Enforcement Suomi.fi Messages

Receiving official mail will become primarily digital on 14 April 2026.

When you identify yourself for the first time in the enforcement e‑service or another authority’s e‑service, you will be guided to activate Suomi.fi Messages.

Suomi.fi Messages will be activated

• if you are an adult

• use authorities’ e‑services and

• do not yet have Suomi.fi Messages in use

The change does not apply to persons who are

• minors

• under guardianship or

• have a valid continuing power of attorney.

Enforcement documents

Customers who have activated Suomi.fi Messages have previously been able to inform the National Enforcement Authority Finland that they do not wish to receive enforcement mail electronically. This option has been discontinued as of 14 April 2026. All customers who use Suomi.fi Messages will receive enforcement mail electronically via Suomi.fi Messages. Customers who had submitted a refusal and have pending enforcement matters have been sent a letter informing them that the refusal has been withdrawn.

Customers who do not use public administration e‑services will continue to receive official mail on paper unless they choose electronic communication.

Notification of eviction

A separate notification of eviction will still be issued. The exhortation to move will, in addition to Suomi.fi Messages, be sent to the premises specified in the enforcement basis to the person to be evicted.

In addition, the exhortation to move may be sent to another known address or left at the premises referred to in the enforcement basis as a sealed or open notification.
